Montessori Daycare Calgary

There are several day care settings that are available. There are home day care options, family members as an option and care centers. Each option has its benefits and pitfalls. Day care centers actually offer some unique opportunities that they other settings may not offer. Many parents feel that a child care center is the best setting for their child because they like that care centers are structured.

Strict Regulatory Guidelines

Care centers are set up according to strict regulatory guidelines. In many states home care providers are also monitored but not the way day care centers are. Largely home care providers are given much more leeway because they have fewer children involved. They are under constant scrutiny and have to hold up to periodic inspections.

Knowing that your care facility has met or exceeds the standards that are set forth by the state that you live in gives parents peace of mind. In addition to meeting the standards it is also good to know that day care centers are monitored and inspected for safety. In many states a child care provider has to do a thorough background inspection of all of their employees.

Education Based Day Care Centers

Many child centers offer an education based program. There are typically certified early education teachers on staff. The entire program is rather structured and is set up as a learning setting. This is the perfect opportunity to begin the formal education of your child early on.

There are day care centers that offer opportunities for education that are probably not available in alternate care settings. The "class rooms" are usually set up by age group and development. Many day cares are set up as developmental centers and are geared to assisting your child with reaching developmental milestones. Quite a few parents prefer the day care setting over the home care provider or even having a relative provide the child care because of the educational implications of using a care provider. Simply put, they believe that their children will learn more in their formative years if they have more personalized attention in a home setting. Having professional child care providers that are well educated in early child hood development is a great benefit when choosing out of home care.

Socialization

Experts cite a child's socialization as one of the key benefits to having a care center provide child care. Usually in a care center as opposed to home child care provided settings there are more children to interact with. Play is structured and is age appropriate as is socialization. Being with children their own age, especially during the preschool years opens up a child's perception of other children and proper play techniques.

There are many other benefits that enrolling your child in a care center provides, it is really relative as to what kind of care you expect for your child as to what you will find beneficiary. You are in the driver seat when it comes to your care provider. Finding a program that works for you and your family is the key to harmony. Considering the benefits of a day care provider may help you to make the right choice.

A major concern for parents these days is to obtain affordable, good quality day care services for their children especially those under the age of five. In recent years when the ratio of both parents working is on a continuous boom, the need for child day care centers has seen a boom. This has developed child day care service into an industry all by itself.

With educated parents so concerned about the good education and care of their children, this industry is on a constant look-out for qualified and trained staff. The industry consists of two main divisions-family care system whose workers are mostly self-employed and many of whom do not even take a fee because of being related to the child's parents, and private child day care centers. The latter are establishments that provide paid care for infants, toddlers, preschool children, and older children in before- and after-school programs. Although the family care services do not have a fixed criterion for the caregivers, the private part of this industry wants employees with a good education as well as prior experience with child development work.

According to a survey report, in America alone, child day care services provided about 859,200 wage and salary jobs in 2008. There were an additional 428,500 self-employed and unpaid family workers in the industry, most of whom were family child care providers, and some were self-employed managers of child care centers.

Jobs in child day care industry are found across the world, depending upon the distribution of the population. However, day care centers are less common in rural areas, where there are fewer children to support a separate facility. Another research shows that in USA alone, almost 86 percent of all wage and salary jobs in 2008 were located in establishments with fewer than 50 employees.

Self-employment opportunities in this industry are considered among the best in the economy. A large number-about 428,500 of all workers in the industry- are self-employed or unpaid family workers. This difference reflects the ease of entering the child day care business.

Usually, the median age of child day care providers is about 38, compared with about 45 for all workers. About 19 percent of all care providers are 24 years or younger as opposed to about 13 percent for all industries. The age requirements also vary among different regions and companies. There are some establishments that even take teachers assistants of 14 to 16. Thus, child day care industry is a good employment option for people on the hunt of a part time job. It gives the opportunity of pursuing your education simultaneously as most companies offer a maximum of 12 hours working job. Another plus point of jobs in this field is that employment chances do not become stagnant. As people find better jobs, they leave this industry, making room for newcomers.

A survey states that wage and salary jobs in the child day care services industry are projected to grow about 15 percent over the 2008-18 periods, compared with the 11 percent employment growth projected for all industries combined. It is therefore easily predictable that center-based day care would continue to expand its share of the industry because an increasing number of parents prefer its more formal setting and believe that it provides a better base for children before they begin proper schooling. Those who wish to enter family child care industry should not be disappointed as these providers will continue to remain an important source of care for many young children because some parents prefer the more personal attention that such a setting can provide. So, overall it is a forthcoming employment industry and will develop further in the upcoming days.
